In the process of putting together a modest brewery, and the kettle and HLT will both have a single 2.4kw element each.
The pots I'm installing into are stainless, and the elements have earth pins on them. I presume I just need to make sure there's a solid connection between the element's earth (or metallic part of the element) and the pot for it to be safe?

you got it, can always double check if you have a continuity tester, one probe to SS and one to earth pin on your plug top

i used these as a replacement for the element fibre washer to ensure good earth continuity. resistance between vessel and earth pin of plug on 1m x 1.5mm flex 0.08 ohms. make sure you've got RCD protection too

Hi all, just bought this..........
just reading this post regarding Earthing and SS pot. I intend fitting this to my 40 ltr Buffalo boiler, basically as a back up, just in case of cut outs. I`m not great with electrics but I assume I just drill hole and fit this. Am I right? or would I need some sort of additional earth connection to the pot. It is a 3 pin, Thanks, Dave.
