Hi All
Opinion is very much divided on these. I have a 20l bag in a box which I intend to fill with about 15l of bitter. I don't think it will last long over xmas week!
Some people say they don't work for bitters...I appreciate it will not be the best carbed beer in the world however some claim to have found ways of getting a decent ale out of them.
Anyone use these?

I use one in conjunction with a hand pump and you will get more than 3 weeks out of it.
I just batch prime the same I would bottles and I keep my eye in the bag inflating and late off some
Co2 every few days

I dont prime but use a hand pull, I am jut finishing off a Porter that I made on September 1st the bag implodes when pulled through a hand pump so keeps air out, I always close the tap after the nights use.

I would think a bag in a box would be ideal for a bitter. Low carbonation to let those delicate flavours come through.
I think it wouldn't be good for an American IPA or Lager where you want quite a lot of carbonation.

But then, it's not so different conceptually from those newfangled reusuable ecofass kegs, right? http://en.ecofass.com/
Those are in use by major breweries like Goose Island for a full range, including lagers and very hoppy beers.
