Post by Dgrant81385 » Sun Feb 08, 2015 1:26 pm

My stc 1000 blew the fuses on the power lead and extension lead it was plugged into.

Is there a fuse inside the stc that i will now need to replace aswell and if so how??

Sounds worrying unless something was just wired up wrong. Its only powering a screen, a Pic processor and some relays so 3a should be fine. Might save the extension fuse next time. Sounds like the stc has gone south!

After looking at everything it was the blue wire from mains connected in to the stc had came loose and just blew everything.

Hoping the stc still works !!!

Just incase it is fried, I have ordered another stc-1000 and 10 meters of 1.5mm 15amp 3 core flexy. Hopefully no more issues.

Stc wired up again PROPERLY with a 5amp fuse.

I had just rushed it through the first time and used a carpenter knife to strip insulation away crappy method.

Bough a proper wire stripper and did it properly.

Stc - 1000. Worming and wired up powering my fermentation fridge.

How ever I dont think holding down plug sockets with electrical insulation tape is a good idea so will be upgrading to a proper box in future.

Or is this safe to use???
