Buffalo boiler - constant boil?

Post by Chrissyr63 » Sun Feb 15, 2015 5:00 pm

Hi all

Just using my buffalo boiler for the first time and the boil is quite intense. Do people keep theirs as a constant hard boil or use the thermostat to switch it off and on automatically?

Thanks Chris

I kept it to on the whole time, with the lid left on but ajar to let the DMS out

thanks, I went with the full on and covered 3/4 with foil - seemed to give a lot of boil off so will have to measure this on my next full brew.

I get around 3l per hour boil off. That wil vary slight depending on whether you have the lid on/off/part-on.
Best wishes
