Shes got legs.....

...and knows how to use them

Aahh good old ZZ top.

So i added some extension legs and wheels to my Morebeer conical. Not cheap - £210 delivered and duty robbed. However they make a huge difference. I can fill directly to a corny. I can now move my entire FV system (Maxi chiller on a SS wheeled trolley) around the brewery. I can move the FV close to the sink for cleaning. Cleaning is now a doddle - place a bucket underneath and use the hose pipe with spray head. The legs are triclamp connected and so are the wheels. The wheels are braked. The extensions are angled for stability. Overall Im very pleased.

Very nice! Will your system chill only, or will it heat also out of interest?

No it will both heat and chill. I will be using a 200W pipe clip wrapped around a short piece of 28mm copper pipe on the flow. All controlled by an STC. The python pump will pump the reservoir around the circuit and the STC will either turn on either the chiller or heater as required. I plan to write some Raspberry pi code so i can control it remotely in the long term....but like anything I never have the time....

Hi Setmash
Do you have a picture of the top of the fermenter as I'm really interested to see how you've connected the loop into the fermenter. I've got exactly the same fermenter and need to sort this out for Summer.

In the picture I can't see where the blow off from the fermenter is. Is it hiding ?

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul, I was testing it without the 3 inch triclamp in place as Ive not made it yet. I plan to use a 3 inch to 1 inch offset https://www.brewershardware.com/Tri-Clo ... 0X10E.html I plan to drill two holes in this reducer and insert two stainless steel glands. I will insert the pipes through these glands. I plan to make the shape of the coil so it fits through the 3 inch triclamp (if possible) so i can remove it as a whole unit for cleaning. The glands will enable me to adjust the height of the coil (which will sit a few inches below the wort) so i can raise the height (Alemans idea) before i rack reducing yeast deposits.
