Just watche'd a quick video on YouTube. And the guy was fairly adament you needed some sort of metal sheilding around your ball valve, sight glass and therometer.
This was using a gas burner ( in his usual vids it's a bayeu classic turkey burner but this time it was stove topping)
So does anyone else bother with any heat protection for there sticky out bits
