hi all do I need a fridge for my cornilius kegs,
and do you need to alter the thermostat.
I was thinking to put the kegs on a table in the shed. like I do my plastic barrels.
thanks sam.

I'd get a fridge mate. I had mine in the shed but the heat can still get to it during the day if its sunny and a hot corny equals bad beer

Simple answer is yes and yes.

Keeping at a constant (lowish) temp will mean you don't end up with a pint of warm froth when the ambient temp rises.
Generally you would need to control the fridge temp with a controller such as the STC 1000 (loads of info on the forum or YouTube).

I have done both and with a CO2 source you will not look back (apart from drilling a few holes in the fridge :D )

Now that I've got a fridge I'd definitely say yes to one, it makes life so much easier, although i don't have cornies.
Do you have to alter the thermostat? If you don't use it for anything more than keeping cornies cool I'd say no, after all you're just going to be using it for its intended purpose, a bit of trial and error with the fitted stat and you'll get it set to the required temp.

BUT if you did fit an STC1000 or similar it will let you have much more accurate control, and gives a readout of the current temp, no having to guess the temp if you've got one. Then of course you could fit a heater to the STC too and use the fridge as a fermentation chamber as well. I have fitted one to my fridge
good luck
