Using new plate chiller?

Post by DC » Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:21 pm

Hey all, I am setting up my new plate chiller (been in the box 2 years  ) and I am wondering if I will need to pump my wort from my boiler to my plate chiller or will I just need to use gravity to push the wort through the plate chiller? I've tested the water in & out side of the chiller and that works fine with no leaks

Mine works fine by gravity. The quicker the wort flows the less cooling you'll get. I start mine going once the wort is down to around 80C, and it's 30C by the time it gets to the FV.
