Re: WTF?
I am still struggling to see the merit in a £700 kettle. I can see the value in putting that kind of money into a conical, but a kettle?
All of the really interesting things you can do with a kettle involve mashing in them (Biab) - step mashes, cereal mashes, recirculation, automatic temperature control, I addition to boil feature, like hop spiders, online hop backs, trub filters and really good valves.
All of which you can do with a cheap pot and build out yourself.

WTF?
The SS pots have a really thick induction friendly base.chris2012 wrote:Yeah I don't get it, I wonder how thick the SS is to compared to stockpots.
Im also wondering if they use weldless fittings or not.
It looks like they don't even come with triclamps, pfttt
Like the Blichmann, you are paying for the looks also.

Re: WTF?
you have to understand that the stock pots we use are mass produce thin walled pots.
Those are higher quality and possibly even made to there spec to a much shorter run increasing costs, Add onto that the other custom pieces they add on it makes small volume production expensive, Then add 20% on top for them stamping there name on it

Re: WTF?
They are much shinier, as we all know, the shinier the brew kit the better the beer it produces
