I use one of >these< for hops and water treatment. They're very accurate indeed (I check with coins). I got the 200g version so there's enough allowance to zero a plastic cup or bowl, and still have enough left for the hops/pellets.

For grain, I use a Morrisons £8 digital scale, which resolves to 2g and is also accurate; certainly good enough for that.

I quite like the Kelvin scale, but generally for day to day things stick with Celsius

Ha, I have a spare ex grocers enameled cast iron potato balance with a nice big galvanised scoop for the grain. I never used it as i never sourced any weights to use with it.

if considering electronic kitchen scales ensure you can see the readout with your grain container sat on it before buying,
The same goes for any drug dealer/jewelers scales you buy, otherwise you may find yourself having to weigh out in smaller increments not because of the scales mass limits, but simply as you cant sit a big enough container on its platform and still see the readout


some folk use postal scales as they can have a larger platform and can accommodate larger grain bowls..

i use large 500mm x500mm platform scales and use them to weigh strike and sparge volumes too

I'm OK with my Morrisons ones, as long as I leave the supplied plastic bowl thing on, and put the container with the grain in on top of that. That way, I can still read the display.
