Cannular Canning Machine

Post by barneey » Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:39 pm

Been a while since I have posted but am glad to say I have still been brewing and drinking regularly :D

Anyway back to the subject, I thought it might be fun to buy a canning machine to spruce up bottling day, a new gadget to play around with.

Rather than type a review I thought this time around I would video the experience of using the machine. 1st up, the unboxing of the machine, & time permitting I will set it up during the during the week & post a few more videos over the weeks detailing my experience of actually using the thing in anger, warts & all.

I’m looking at buying one in the new year. Great video. I’m leaning towards the Angel homebrew machine as they’ve modified it to take the more readily available cheaper cans- that does add on another £100+ though sadly
Cheers and gone,

I bought mine from Jonny over at https://brewkegtap.co.uk/products/kegla ... ng-machine

I was severely tempted by the one Paul at Angel sells, I believe his is sold as tried and tested / works out of the box machine, so little if no setting up required but in the end my wallet spoke + as mentioned I like messing around with setting things up. Worth noting however the difference in the cans lids when buying future stock.

The cans are anything up to 50p a can, all really depends on where you buy them + in what quantity & the type of can/lid When you factor in costs, bottling is by far the cheaper option but canning is a new gadget to play around with + cans are a lot safer if sending through the postal system.

Also working on a DIY counter pressure filler for the cans (just 3d printing a few parts as I type) but I better get the Cannular set up and working first  lots of things to trial with filling the cans, cold temps + a beer gun might work just as well if not better than a counter pressure filler?

As I buy/ have bought all the brewing equipment I own, (none of its gifted from a supplier) not in the business of selling homebrew equipment, I try to be as subjective as I can when posting. I have a whole brewery room full of brewing equipment from a DIY 100l Braumeister unit to the 120l Oak Clad Electric brewery build (documented on JBK) to my humble grainfather. If I get the time and assuming people might find it of interest, will post on youtube.

8) Will be interesting to see one in action & how the price compares to the rest, of the many on the market.

Hopefully they will be priced competitively. I’d rather use Rob to be honest

bit pricier than i thought it would be, its less than $1000 in america so i assumed with a bit of bulk buying power etc it would come in sub £1000 here

Same with the Cannular, the price of the machine overseas isnt that bad, but if you try to import one the weight v £ of shipping is astronomical & you are far better off just buying one from a homebrew supplier who has shipped in bulk.

It says free shipping.
Must be a catch somewhere.

Free shipping inside most states. Here it will be plus postage, tax and duties.

Whilst it looks like it is sub $1000 in the States it actually isn't, the model we have with all the accessories is just over $1200. you then have duty, VAT and shipping. I am really pleased at the price point for the quality of the machine and how easy to use it is.

Just uploaded the 2nd part.

Note I only have basic camera gear & it was filmed in artificial light. Really must get a new camera BUT brewing gear purchases just keep getting in the way

Hope it's of some use, if you are thinking of buying the same model.
