I built a BM clone with a simple eBay PID and a cheap cyclic timer to run the pump 8 on 2 off minutes - I hated it and soon reused the bits and made something else.

Hi Mash
I am still set on the Grainfather controller as a straight replacement. It does all the same stuff as a BM controller at a 1/3 of the price.
As far as I can see the only thing you might need to change in your BM in the thermocouple type.
My misting on brew days has never caused any issues yet 🙄🙄

I have now sourced a GF G30 connect controller,
All the specs match the BM apart from the pump spec will need to see if there is any way of disabling the pump at 80 C
and cycling it during the mash.
Will also need to use the GF thermocouple or make one to go into my BM.
The Brau-Father is about to be born.

A simple on off switch would bypass the pump control.

I really am looking forward to hearing about the brau-father. We have certainly talked about it for a while.
