Scales Recommendation - 2 decimal places

Post by Fingar » Mon Mar 21, 2022 4:39 pm

Folks,

Does anybody have a recommendation for scales suitable for the accurate measurement of water treatment salts, so presumably, something that can measure to two decimal places. I bought an utter cheap piece of tosh which is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike as it was warped and failed to stabilse... that will learn me!

Cheers... Fingar

These are what I got but needed the consistency for weighing pyknometer bottles (what a hydrometer emulates). Weighing water salts doesn't need that accuracy but they are miles better than those cheap postage stamp sized things (these are about the size of two average paperbacks).

I am just talking a few grams - it is only for salt additions for a 23L brew. My current scales are good for grain, but not for refined accuracy needed for salt additions.

Thanks for link PeeBee.

ok - the set I was thinking of is max 300g resolution 0.01g.

Will see if I have any in stock. We used them for accurate weight of printer cartridges.

I’ve been using these AccuWeight scales for the same purpose as you wish. They come with a handy cover/bowl, and are accurate. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ACCUWEIGHT-Ele ... atf_m&th=1

Folks,

Thanks for all of the replies and the recommendations. Just one question: do these scales require calibration? Or is this a bit 'overkill' for measuring salts? Think that might have been two questions!

I have a certified 200g weight that I check scales with occasionally.

To answer your question... No imo they don't need calibration.
