I’ve been offered a keg with the attached fitting on the neck. It doesn’t look like a normal spear but any ideas if I can remove it or what it is called.
If I can use it there may be a few more available

You lucky bugger. Nice find.
Yup that is just a screw thread. You see them a lot on the blue drums.
Use a pair on pliers tip down, open them out to wedge behind the lugs and turn anti clockwise.
