EDIT by ADMIN - the graph and table are now further down the thread.

i've just done something for my brewery wall -thought it may be of use to some of you.

Nice graph but.... surely if the hydrometer is calculated for 20C, then you really shouldn't be adding anything at that temperature? (Minor point I know but I'd expect the line to go through the 0/20 bit of the grid.)

absolutely correct

18C is the lowest temperature that requires no adjustment (hence co-ordinate (18,0) ) and 22C is the highest.

The graph therefore hits 20C at a gravity adjustment of ~+0.5

The graph should be stepped but i couldn't be arsed, sorry

Am i right in reading this then ... say my sparged wort is coming out about 70ish degrees and i'm getting a reading of 1005 i should be adding 20 or so points and reading it as 1025 say?
and therefore i can carry on sparging ?

Please could some wonderful person do a graph like that for a 15.5̊C hydrometer (mine is so old it says 60̊F) :)

Here's temperature correction @15.6 Degrees C. in tabular form. I don't think I've got anything that can draw graphs. Temperature in first column, correction in second. Obviously a figure with a minus sign is subtracted from reading, whereas all others are added.

A reading of 1040 at 27C would actually be 1042.5 @15.6C.
(more correctly 1.0425)

Very kind of you Bob, yes I'd like that. 8)

I'll sort out the background colour when I get the page if you like - I think a paler green would fit in better.
