One pot Trips the MCB

Post by ukdaasfan » Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:08 pm

So I have a control board with 2 circuits.

One for HTL, one for Kettle.

Plug my kettle into it and both work fine.

Plug the HTL into it and after 5-10 minutes it trips.

Figured it was the element so I switched it out. Still trips.

Must be the lead so wired the lead an old Kettle I have with an immersion and that was fine.

So I am left with the only possible solution being the pot.

When I put the my put my meter across from ground to Live and Ground to Neutral I get no reading, and the usual 10 ohms from Live to Neutral.

So where the hell is the short and why is it only affecting the one port that are built identically.

Did you solve this? It’s an interesting one.

What trips? MCB? RCD?
