Using Bleach
With cheap thin bleach you have to assume that it is 1% available chlorine without information to the contrary printed on the bottle. Domestos Original, in contrast, has 4.9% sod. hyp. printed on the bottle which is about 4.5% available chlorine. Thus thin bleaches are about 22% of the strength of mainline bleaches, so you need to use four-and-a-half times more to achieve the same effect.
You need about 1000ppm or more for cleaning, but only about 150 to 200 ppm for disinfecting.
At 1% (thin bleach):
1000 ppm is 100ml per litre.
200 ppm is 20ml per litre.
There is no need to make up a full 23 litres (I've just noticed I've been beaten to that one), unless you want to soak a lot of things. A few litres and just wetting the surfaces of your vessels every ten minutes or so with a sponge, is okay.

Just as graham said.......but also if you get a chlorine smell in your containers when you've finished cleaning, rinse out again with a solution of 1 crushed campden tablet in 2 litres of water.......splash it all about for 5 ins and hey presto it's gone!............chlorine and sodium metabisulphite cancel each other out!
