Better Bottling cleaning: tip

Post by yashicamat » Mon Nov 03, 2008 8:31 pm

Found this tip elsewhere on the web, originally suggested by the makers. Wet a flannel with washing powder, insert into the better bottle then shake the bottle vigerously to throw the flannel about inside. It really worked for me, I couldn't get this krausen residue to shift at all with any normal cleaning liquid, but this cleaned the bottle to spotless in a few minutes. 8)

Just thought I'd share that one. :D

I clean my bottles using warm soapy water and about 20 5 pence pieces.
The rattling about of the 5p coins really gets things moving

The only thing I'd be a bit concerned about with that is the metal scratching the plastic?

Then it ain't a better bottle.

I just use plain old bleach and leave it over a few days. Voila, krausen
gone. A rinse of really hot water will flush out the chlorine and then I sanatize it.
