Cleaning a corny

Post by jonnyhop » Sat Jan 23, 2010 5:19 pm

My latest corny has something on the bottom that washing up liquid hasn’t moved, looks a bit like when I burn something to a pan. Caustic soda? Young’s steriliser? I am conscious that stainless steel needs different treatment from, say, a plastic FV but I am unsure what treatments will be ok?

Also just got an old, plastic FV which should scrub up fine but it has a plastic O ring which is filthy –any tips for this?

Thanks

Scotty

soda crystals should do the trick matey. I normally add a cup full and boiling water and leave it for a couple of hours. This tends to sort out stains, if not find someone with skinny wrists and long arms to clean it out

Previous tip good. If not, pour in a cup of bicarb and then add citric and let it fizz for a while. Obviously rinse well. Don't use bleach.
