steriliser use by date

Hi folks,i have just picked up a job lot from ebay and in it was 4 tubs of vwp 'cleaner,steriliser and deodoriser' powder.no sign of a use by date.

Any thoughts on using it just to give the old barrels a pre-soak before i give them a proper clean?
