Hola! Last time I cleaned my boiler I turned one of the elements on once full of water and oxi. I've noticed now that the element that was on looks like it's got oxi baked on! Won't clean off. Any ideas how I can clean this? Or will it be ok for my next brew?
Ps, looking to brew this afternoon so looking for a prompt reply. Cheers
Oxi on element
Re: Oxi on element
A soak in some sort of acid solution......citric, phosphoric.....or a good scale removing product.
Have you got hard water?? I have and I get this if I soak too long or boil an oxi solution.
Never leave oxi in a corny keg overnight if you have hard water.....I learnt the hard way, what a job I had getting rid of that scale.

I've got some stuff for removing scale from the babies sterilizer, would that work? So you think I shouldn't brew until its cleaned off?Mr. Dripping wrote:A soak in some sort of acid solution......citric, phosphoric.....or a good scale removing product.

Re: Oxi on element
It will be some sort of calcium salt......not harmful as far as I know. But my worry would be scorching and or blowing the element. I would remove it before brewing.
Try some of the de-scaler you have....just rub some on with a cloth and rinse well.
