Bleach to sanitise pressure barrel

Post by adamzworld » Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:37 pm

If I'm going to sanitise a pressure barrel using bleach (unscented) then does half a cup full of bleach mixed with 23ish litres of warm water sound about right?

Also how long should I leave it in there before rinsing, is 10 mins enough?

Cheers,

Adam

You should be fine. I do it pretty much like that and I've not had an infected beer yet, 30 brews in. Give it a good rinse to remove any smell though.

Excellent, thanks Daf. I'll use dilute the bleach down as described above and make sure I wash thoroughly afterwards. Cheers, Adam
