Hi all,

Here are some internal shots of my steel cask.

I know nothing of welding or cask construction, though the weld bead in places does look a bit big and rough? What do you lot think, anyone peered inside a cask? I'm more experienced with cornies and they're much better finished internally.

Can't say I've noticed rough welds inside mine but I wouldn't be unduly worried.

Where are they from?

Hereford Casks. I can see on the smooth surfaces inside where they've been tumbled presumably to remove some of the welding imperfections. It's just on the pin I've had from Harvey's the interior is incredible, welds like TIG welded and uniform matt grey throughout. I'm not really very concerned, these look more like the Harvey's cask after each clean so maybe it's a wearing in issue. Time will tell I suppose.

Looks pretty normal to me and we internally inspect between 60 and 100 casks a week prior to filling :-)
