If you were just using water, I'd really recommend using a cleaner too. I did a full boil with water after installing the parts in my boiler, but a whole load of scummy crap came off with a cleaner after that too.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.
