Iodophor Steriliser

Post by vikstar100 » Thu Jun 05, 2008 4:53 pm

Hi Everyone just to say this is an awesome forum. I almost nearly find all my questions answered here. Here's one I'm having trouble finding an answer.

I am now going to use some Iodophor Steriliser as a sanitiser. I am used to using VWP. The instructions say that the Iodophor Steriliser should be used in water at 40 C.

What would be the case if it was at 20C. Can it be kept in a spray bottle and used for weeks as I have read somewhere it loses it power within 24 hours.

Thanks for looking.

no!

don't use it above 40C or bad things will happen!

it's fine at ambient temp.

I've had some in a sprayer for ages - as long as it's brown, it is still effective.

Hi,

Just to clarify - Can I make up a solution of Iodophor in a spray bottle, give my gear a spray, leave to dry naturally for a few minutes and then use without rinsing?
Can I also do this with bottles?

cheers
