I was asked at the chemists (Boots) if I wanted the Videne scrub solution or antiseptic solution. Went for the latter as I'm pretty hopeful that was correct? Cost was £4.41 for 500ml, will ask for a 'baby-dropper' type measuring thingy when I go collect.

Yep its antiseptic solution.
If you ask for a baby feeder syringe they cost under a quid and you can accuratley measure 1.25Ml / L I use between 1.5 and 2 Ml / Ltr.
Dont forget to ensure your water is on the Acidic side . I always throw in a couple of Tsp of Citric Acid. Videne works best in an Acidic solution.

I've recently been informed it's also a good idea to keep povidone iodine in the fridge. I've never had a problem with the stuff in the cupboard, and i don't think i've been in a medical facility that kept it in one... but for the sake of a tiny bit of your fridge real estate it can't hurt can it?
