Steam Cleaners

I have a high pressure steam cleaner. I have found it brilliant for cleaning burned on wort from the hob. However, teh distructions and advertising for steam cleaners often say they "sanitize" the surfaces. Is there likely to be any truth behind it? It seems logical as the pressure means the steam is over 100 degrees, and obviously vapor conducts a lot of heat wether under pressure or not..

No known life can survive above 130oc a steam cleaner by it's very nature operates at >100oc so sanitization is assured.... so long as you don't miss a spot. I'm personally a great fan of boiling water.

It just seems like there are too many variables to ensure proper sanitization.
im sure i could use it for spot sanitizing tools.. but how close does the jet nozzle need to be? For how long do i expose it to the jet? etc etc.

Variables suck. :(
