If you don't mind your optic nerve dying.
Is it loaded with scenting agents and whatnot?

Is this stuff sufficient for handling your equipment? Would make life so much easier.... (already got some but never considered using for during my brewing)

These things always seem to have either residual deposits or stuff like triclosan in them. They won't hurt it i wouldn't have thought, but might affect flavour?
Try licking your finger after the alcohol dries down. ;P

Before I do anything post boil I give my hands a good spray and rub with Betadine solution.
It's effective and you should already have it made up

I tried to get betadine from my local chemists. The ones that didn't look at me like cows at pasture told me it was a tenner + vat, for 500 ml.

Initially I scanned that as "before I do anything I boil my hands"
I find betadine dries my hands out really badly, at the end of a brewday I have to moisturise

I thought he said he boiled his hands also.
I don't like boiling my hands. Really dries them out.

my nan drinks shandy.
its' funny
she drinks a pint of it in about a minute.. but of course its bass shandy so looks almost like a proper pint at first glance...
really intimidates my brother's mates..
Thanks, DaaB, i'll talk to the chemist herself at Boots.
The other pharmacy i tried didn't seem to actually HAVE a chemist, so i don't know what they were doing even being open.

if you do use this stuff be wary of soem recent accidents involving this stuff and nurses in local hospitals, the nurses were rubbing it all over their hands as they entered and left the ward as the policy states, then they would trot over the car park and light up a crafty fag .......whoof! up they went

luckily noone was seriously hurt by this yet but believe me it does happen. its quite amusing when you are looking for a member of staff who should be on duty then you see them charging round the car park with their own hands of fire trick

usually the alcohol just burns away but if you were wearing flamable clothing it could be nasty so be carefull.

He meant the alcohol gel

I've got some tescos here - "antibacterial hand gel" there are no scents or anything in it... just like the hospital stuff.
