food oils, get away

Any trick to clean stainless barrel inside out witch use to have food oil in ?

Found not much in forum. Soak all oils to ripped newspaper. Then strong crystal soda soaking but that did not do much anything. Thinking to use isopropanol alcohol.

Vast quantities of soap of some kind? Making oil soluble in water is what soap is does.

I´l say, that sounds more simple. I try with ecover dish washer & brush. Thanks !

Normal soaps was too weak. Toluene was better, still did not complete. Most of it has gone.

And now what are you going to do with it now you have washed it with toluene??
I'd have used hot water and oxi/caustic.

I'd of used oxi as well.

Toluene is nasty stuff and I'd want to be sure its all been removed before its used for beer making.

Thanks for reply. It´s not pure toluene, it is local washing liquid called: TOLU. Witch is made from pine tree soap and will mostly be after use Biodegradable.

then more steam cleaning with no detergent, then some oxiclean to make sure!
