Can Star San Kill The Head?

Post by gnutz2 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:59 am

This may be just coincidence but ever since using star san and not rinsing the bottles my beers have had naff all head on them.

This was one of the recipes...

95% MO
5% Torri wheat
1.044 OG
100g of NS hops in the last 10 mins of boil.

Cheers.

I use the same technique and get a great head. I do carbonate quite high though.

Me neither.
I buy from The Malt Miller

Thats good to know, it must be these thin recipes i've been doing lately plus the first time i've used notty, it tends to dry the beers out a bit especially if theres no crystal or carapils in there and a low og.

Cheers.
