None of those links (two are the same) :(

Videne antiseptic solution. I paid £4.50 for 500ml about four years ago.

Pink label http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VIDENE-ANTISE ... 2a2af4e365

However an independent chemist should be able to get it in a lot cheaper than that. I paid about £8.50 May last year and still have more than half the bottle left.

F*** me! How can they get away with charging that much?????

It's the Antiseptic Solution you want. Most chemists will order it in next day for you. Expect to pay about £8 for 500ml.

Is there any reason to get it over starsan?

Cost and availability I suppose.

I'm a starsan convert though...

As said above, it is the pink label. Don't pay £16 for it though.

the BNF says:
Antiseptic solution, povidone–iodine 10% in aqueous solution, net price 500 mL = £5.43
To be applied undiluted in pre-operative skin disinfection and general antisepsis
So the cost price is £5.43

I choose it over starsan, because of cost

Star san is less than 10p per brew for me and I'm fairly sure I use more than is necessary. Looks like videne would be a third of the cost

good to have options though

True, I'd better not use it for my DIY liver transplant I have planned for after the festive excesses. :-k
