Brewfather brewing app
There is a new or newish recipe builder that is quite easy to use.
There is a premium option for about £20 a year

Re: Brewfather brewing app
I've been playing around with this for the last week or so and will be brewing with it on Monday, so far i've been really impressed and the pace of development and responsiveness of the developer is really high. I am 99% sure that I will be buying the subscription to it, I just want to see it used on a brew day first.
Finally a cross platform app that doesn't have a UI that is offensive to the eyes.

Cheers for the heads up. How does this differ from the grainfather recipe builder and connect app?
Re: Brewfather brewing app
It's not related at all to them. It's basically the equivalent of Beersmith or similar software and can be used on any brew setup (it has a bunch of profiles already, including the Grainfather and Braumeister).chefgage wrote:Cheers for the heads up. Re: Brewfather brewing app
I am doing my recipes in both the Gf and the Brewfather app
Brewfather is easier on the eye for me
The way they work out the IBu can mean a difference between the 2 apps by 10 IBU.
Not that I would be able to detect a 10 IBU difference

Re: Brewfather brewing app
Brewfather now has a native app for iOS (allows proper notifications on brew day and gets rid of a few other limitations that web apps has in iOS):

Re: Brewfather brewing app
The apps seem very slow to load any profiles, just sits there for a good while before eventually loading. Is the Prem account any faster?

Re: Brewfather brewing app
It shouldn’t make a difference. Are you using the iOS app from the app store or the web based one?barneey wrote:The apps seem very slow to load any profiles, just sits there for a good while before eventually loading. Is the Prem account any faster?
If the latter try clearing the cache.
Re: Brewfather brewing app
Not experienced that issue myself.
Try reinstalling the app? Any difference when using the web app?

Re: Brewfather brewing app
Years ago, when I first crossed over from kit mixer to the dark side, I think I was using something called BrewMate on a PC laptop, which has now expired.
A month ago, I tried to plan my return brew on a Mac using an application called Brew Target, or something like that. I wasn’t overly impressed.
Today I used Brewfather on my iPad and was most satisfied. Volumes were spot on, I think it predicted 23 litres at 1.054 and I got 22.5 litres at 1.056
Will see how it goes for the remaining 29 days of my trial period.
