Opened with a good hiss, and pours with good carbonation. The colour is a deep amber colour, with a light brown head, that starts off loose, then compacts down to a even tightly packed head.

On the nose you pick up a fantastic woody aroma, then there is dark fruits like cherry, with notes of toffee and wheat.

On to the flavour, and the first thing you get is this rich malty backbone that leaves the mouthfeel feeling smooth and silky. There is a lot of caramel and toffee to this ale, which is followed up nicely with a woody and slightly floural flavour. There is a nice cherry and fig flavour to this ale. The carbonation is spot on and it had a medium body
