According to the blurb, this beer has been barrel aged in a mixture of bourbon and wine barrels for 35 months.
A lovely beer for sipping, silky smooth mouthfeel, loads of aroma of bourbon, sherry and dates and a taste of bourbon, dark fruits and brown sugar. Nice balance of bitterness and warming alcohol (no surprise at 16.58%).
Sorry, I'm useless at tasting and reviews, and there's loads of flavour which I find hard to describe, but let me just say it's BLM!
It would be good to buy another and see what it's like in another few years. I'll be back up that way in a few weeks so may do just that.

Just looked at the brewery site. Seems this lovely sounding beer isn't available any more. Shame!

It's not been on the site for a while, but there are still bottles available from the shop in Cromartyguypettigrew wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 1:04 pmJust looked at the brewery site. Seems this lovely sounding beer isn't available any more. Shame!
