Does anyone know what the indicator used in the Salifert test kit is? I seem to be using it faster than the KH reagent!
If it's possible to buy some separately that would be great.
Thanks.

Re: Salifert indicator
Best of luck trying to find a source for it ready to go, but it is made as follows:
Mixed bromocresol green-methyl red indicator solution: Use either the aqueous(1) or alcoholic(2) solution:
1) Dissolve 100 mg bromocresol green sodium salt and 20 mg methyl red sodium salt in 100 mL distilled water.
2) Dissolve 100 mg bromocresol green and 20 mg methyl red in 100 mL 95% ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.

Re: Salifert indicator
Thanks WB
Ah, those names--takes me back to my lab days!!
Probably easier just to buy a new Salifert kit when the indicator runs out.
