Hello all
I have an IPA with OG of 1060 and seem to have a stable gravity of 1016 now.
Is it done fermenting or am I stuck?
IS 1016 too high as a FG or am I stuck?
Re: Yeast
You can get liquid yeasts such as Wyeast and Whitelabs from most online HB shops - though you may have to phone or email them first, as they often only buy it to order due to it's short shelf life.rmuiritfc wrote:Where is the best place to get yeast? i have been using dry yeast and wanted to start with the liquid yeast.
A cheaper alternative (though more bother to make up) is Brewlab in Sunderland, who will pop a pack of yeast in the post for you for under 4 quid.
Here's a thread about it.
i've got a similar problem at the moment.. the brew has been in the FV for about 9 days now (a bit longer than i had planned, but i put my back out at the start of the week and the missus barred me from doing anything with the beer
) and it's sitting at around 1019. it's a brupaks craftsman yorkshire bitter - i screwed up when doing the initial boil as i ended up with only 18-18.5L in the FV rather than 19L (and now i have a horrible feeling it should've been a full 23L?!). irk.
is it ok to transfer it to the keg at 1019? or should i add some yeastvit and/or enzyme and wait another day or so? is leaving it for so long in the FV a bad thing?
