HB Kid in a sweety shop & liquorice stick

Post by GlossopTiger » Sat May 10, 2008 8:29 pm

Was at BrewMart in Sheffield today, monthly shoping trip, i do like their shops & prices
Anyway, as a little kid i saw some liquorice sticks & had to add them to the order, now dont know what to do with them
I can once remember having a pint of Boddies, & it was one of those 'never forget moments' it was perfect, and it had a slight hint of liqorice in the after taste
Any one got a recipe or advice on how to use these liquorice sticks, am just working on partial grain mash's at the moment but am willing to adapt, i can still remember the taste now.
Just want to repeat
Any advice or info will be appreciated

hmm, would liquorice be suited to a stout maybe? or another dark beer style?

1 stick per 25lt of wort for the last 15mins of the boil.
Perfect for an OP clone - just didnt have any for my last batch.
Check out the beers we have for sale @ Mix Brewery

I would go with black treacle personally.
