Using CO2 Bulbs On A Full King Keg
Using CO2 Bulbs On A Full King Keg
My secondary firmentation has failed to produce any CO2, will my King Keg be in any danger of failing if I use a CO2 bulb to inject CO2 into it? I am concerned as the keg has 5 gallons of brew in it and therfore has little head room.
Thanks DaaB,
I tried injecting some CO2 into the keg using an injector and bulbs. What a nightmare! I screwed the injector on to the keg valve, inserted the bulb, screwed the injector down fully and nothing happened. Screwed the injector on even more, beyond the point where I felt comfortable and the CO2 came out but up into the air instead of down into the keg. When I tried to remove the injector, the valve turned as well. When I eventually got the injector off I tightened the valve nut by hand.
I tried bulb number two and got exactly the same result. I then tightened the valve nut using two spanners and tried bulb number three. It sounded as if the CO2 went into the keg but I can't be sure. The beer still only dribbles out of the tap.
I have come to the conclusion that these CO2 bulbs are more hassle than they're worth, I think I will try the Sodastream route.
I think I will need:
An S30 valve
A Sodastream valve
A length of tube
A Sodastream cylinder
anything else?
