Anyone have a recipie for American hops

Post by ni9e » Wed Aug 06, 2008 4:05 pm

I have been luck to secure some Liberty and Amarillo hops  does anyone know a recipie I can try using said hops.

Thanks

Certainly do.

5kg Maris Otter
0.25kg Crystal

20g Amarillo for 60 minutes
20g Amarillo for 30 minutes
20g Amarillo for 15 minutes
20g Amarillo for 5 minutes

US05 yeast.

I've not used liberty hops, but I love Amarillo. You could mix and match if you like.

Liberty is quite a delicate hop and would be quickly lost under all the Amarillo, I would save them for a different recipe. Could try a lightly hopped American cream ale or blonde ale with the Liberty.

anything like Matt has posted with Pale, loads of Amarillo additions and US-05 will be great, done it a good few times now and it's excellent

Thanks guys will try Matt's recipie if they taste as good as they smell it should be a very tasty brew :D .
Mind you the Liberty smell very nice I think I'll try a few gallon batches to try them out.

Oblivious I got the hops buck shea so it would be rude of me not to use em
