boiler steam - how much to expect

I'm preparing my AG kit and wonderred if the gallon or so of steam is an issue when making a 5 gal batch. I'm in a full size garage with peaked / ridge roof so it's quite a volume, no windows and I'll probably have door shut. I've acquired some duct and if needed would fit an extractor but thought this may be OTT.

My advice is to do a test boil with just water. That will show you how much steam will come off (you may in for a surprise ) and will also show you your evaporation losses. My boiler loses a litre every 20 minutes. That's a lot of steam I can assure you

I brew in my garage, and in cold weather the steam condenses on the roof frames, lengths of useful metal stock and anything else up there, and tries to drip unhygienically back into the brewing. I've put in a small extractor fan, but I expect it's not really up to the job so a cheap cooker hood may be next.

The amount of steam in my stupidly small kitchen is insane! I also found out that cheap paint is not good with the steam haha.

I brew next to an open door with a deskfan blowing over the top of the boiler, directing the steam outside. There is a lot of steam and I don't want to risk becoming liable for redecorating.

Gonna be starting AG up again this weekend,after a long break. But in the days of yore I rigged up a large-bore plastic pipe attached firmly into the boiler lid and simply routed the pipe out the kitchen window. No steam,no mess. Could only fit the lid after the boil had settled down after adding the hops,obviously.

I brew in the garage but im right at the front with the door open saves filling the garage with steam, Just for comparison get a small pan with a litre of water and boil that in the kitchen with the doors and windows closed, That will give you a very good idea on what to expect in the garage with a much larger surface area giving steam off.

I brew 50 litre batches with propane in a single garage with pitched roof. You get a LOT of steam and heat. So it is essential for me to have the door open to lose the steam and get fresh air in. I would just leave the door open unless the garage isn't that secure.

I did a test boil with water yesterday, i was surprised at the amount of steam in my also stupidly small kitchen, luckily i just open the window right next to the boiler and i didn't notice any condensation anywhere.
