I can echo the above sentiments.
Just got back into home brewing after a long layoff, but have never done an AG before.
First brew was an extract - London Pride style - to get back into the swing of things.
Luckily it turned out a good pint & I was pleased.
Last month I did the same beer , but this time AG.
Its gospel that a good AG is better than a good extract, but .......................
I have to agree !!
I can honestly say that the AG was the better pint.
There was a better balance & fullness of flavours.
Its AG from now on, but I wont forget extract. In fact I've just knocked up a quickie,
(an extract bitter that is !), because I had a cake of yeast in the FV after bottling an AG pale ale, & an empty barrel.

Nothing wrong with doing the odd extract/kit from time to time. I for one will probably do some Coopers kits in the summer months due to the rise in temperatures for fermenting. At least it has only taken an hour out of my day if it goes wrong

I completed my first AG two weeks ago and I am itching to do another. I'll be waiting until September onwards before starting properly with a purpose-built set up

AG brewing IS very cool isn't it, I haven't found anything else that helps one cope with the crushing banality of existence quite as well.

my SCreaming Mimi is so good I am confident my kit Woodfordes Headcracker I made a few weeks back is never going to get drunk so I'm going to tip it down the sink and utilise the keg.
