magners cider

Post by Glenn » Wed Jan 06, 2010 7:02 pm

There are so many cider kits on the market which one is the best. I would like one thats like Magners and as 5 gallon will last me throughout the summer I dont want one that is not great to drink on a lazy summers day. Knowing our luck summer will be a long weekend. thanks and happy brewing

Magners is such a commercial product you would struggle to duplicate it. Suggest you make a very basic turbo cider and sweeten it with splenda once fermentation has finished. At least then you can get a few batches of TC experience under your belt – tailoring the drink you have made – so you have it spot on by summer.

Yep, none of its good. But I never use sweetener of any kind - my cider is drier than a bone in a kiln. Could always try keeving if you want a sweet cider. Normally when you buy commercial cider it says "with sweeteners, and sulphites for freshness" - none of its good!!
