Well yesterday my mate and his brother turned up with a van and we shifted all the gear to the new premises,
Today me and the wife spent the afternoon cleaning, bleaching and scrubbing the place, i also started to set
everything back up, its almost fully running bar one length of new electrical cable as the original from the pump
to the control board is now to short, so only a half hour job to change it and wire it in then its all systems go,
next Sunday will be the day it gets a full work out.

Equiptment just dropped in there.

Oh my word - I was expecting it to be bigger, but thats very, very impressively big! I bet that'll make life just so much easier with the volumes you'll be brewing. Good move!!

Cheers

You'll be needing bigger vessels for that space ;)

I'd kiss Maggie Thatcher for a space like that!

Yes the extra room will hopefully be filled with more FV`s and Kegs

Well today was the first day of test brewing in the new setup, i just did a 100 ltr test brew.
Things didn`t go as well as expected but i got there in the end.

1. It took a lot longer to heat the water than expected.
2. The pump from the HLT to sparger kept on getting airlocked.
3. Never actually got a rolling boil
4. Mash Tun was a pain to clean out, even though the wife did it.
5.No fittings yet for beer cooler so took a bit of jiggery pokery to cool it.

I did take a few pics but i`ve got to be up a 3am so off to bed in a mo, working in Newbury all week, again :(

Hi,

In case its of use, somewhere I've seen pics of a MT fixed in a gimbal arrangement so that it can be up-ended more easily for emptying (I presume the gimbal must lock in the upright position when not being rotated).

Not done any building of bits in the brewery for a while but i decided i needed to make a Fermenting cupboard for the FV`s
as they are starting to struggle now with the tempreture dropping.

I make the stand yesterday at my mates workshop,i now need to make 3 more
Image

I`ve made it so it will suit both sizes of FV
The 120ltr one
Image

And the 60ltr one
Image

The fan heater that will provide the heat
Image

Almost sealed in
Image

All wrapped up and ready for action
Image

Temp controller set up and working
Image

Added the extra bit to the top for double insulation
Image

All in all it seems to be doing its job, just 3 more to build now.

The stand cost me roughly £20 to make including paint
And the insulation boards were £3.49 each from B&Q so another £17.50
so not too bad for less than £40

Good effort Haz, be careful using a fan heater though as they shouldn't be used in such a small volume of airspace (there is a chance it would melt the insulation!) - I would think about some form of convection heater instead like those tube heaters other people seem to have. This is unless your temp prob is measuring the air temp rather than the wort temperature? in which case ignore me

Yeah its just measuring the air temp.
