Anyone going to the Midland Craft Brewers Association meeting in Derby ?

I was hoping to go but haven't broached it with swmbo yet... as I also have to clear our the storeroom so we can replace the flat roof (unwanted Xmas pressie - one major leak and a four-figure cost to replace the whole thing!) I suspect I won't be allowed out to play next weekend

The Black Country social before Xmas was a good day out - including an ad-hoc tour of the Netherton brewery. I was hoping to make it to my first proper meeting this month but maybe next time...

Really enjoyed it today and am so glad I made it (although 50 minutes late due to a babysitting fiasco and getting lost in Derby ). It was the first time I'd met other brewers face to face and spending an afternoon talking brewing was heavenly. Never has a meeting gone so quickly. And most of all it was great to meet you SMDJ, Shippo and naffolddog!

Presenting my brew for tasting (AG#3, Guinness Extra Stout clone) was pretty nerve-racking but everyone was very complimentary.

I wanted to join the tour of the brewery, but rushing back to relieve the babysitter prevailed. (That sounds wrong doesn't it. )
