Magnum and Citra
Magnum and Citra
I'm planning on doing a Citra-inspired pale ale around 4% tomorrow. I want to use the majority of Citra near the end of the boil and would rather not open my 2nd pack of it as I would like to save this for a future brew. I am thinking of bittering with Magnum, has anyone done it yet and been successful? Will the Magnum affect Citra's flavour and aroma?

Re: Magnum and Citra
I think Magnum will give a very nice smooth bittering. I have plans to do more with Magnum.
Re: Magnum and Citra
I went ahead with an all-Citra brew to try and get the full 'Citra Experience'.
I am planning on using Magnum in future brews as an exlcusive bittering hop. Given the AA and price, it will knock down my overall costs.

Sierra Nevada said in a podcast that they make a nice flavour hop too. Evidenced by Torpedo Extra IPA.

I was quite disappointed mate. Nowhere near as good as the bottle I had a few months ago. I bought them both at the same time about 4 months ago so they must've been pretty fresh then.

Yeah, first one I had tasted crap, no hops whatsoever. It doesn't age well, most US hoppy beers I've had don't.
