Should I do anything?

Post by retourrbx » Wed May 16, 2007 4:27 pm

Ive had my brew in the primary for 10 days now - OG was 1.056 gravity is now 1.016...

I have had a problem with my brews finishing high so this time I aerated with a air stone, kept temp at 20 Celsius with an aquarium heater and made a starter with the Danstar Nottingham.

Should I do anything to it or just live with the higher than expected FG?

I know one option is to give it a stir but would this have any affect on the taste? Also would it be worth increasing the temp by a couple of degrees?

Cheers

taste it and see what its like at that gravity (thats almost 72 % attenuation, not to bad at all), it might be just right, if its still a little too sweet you could try gently rerousing the yeast again.

I've given it a stir this morning - will check gravity and move into secondary on Saturday night - cheers
