Pellet hops

Post by Wherryman13 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 9:05 pm

Am looking at doing a tweak to my next Wherry ( first time going outside the kit instructions)
have a packet of fuggles hops pellets(12g) in a teabag that you soak for 10mins and add liquid and bag to FV
If I add med spray malt too how much do you reckon will be needed to give a marked change to the normal wherry?

Also when putting into the Pressure barrel at the end , is it worth leaving the hop bag in the Pressure barrel ?

any tips / feedback appreciated

Cheers

My suggestion would be for you to make up your kit as normal, but when you add boiling water to each of the cans to swill out the remaining lme, add your hop bag and let it steep for 15 minutes ( do this for each can... i.e transfer the hop bag from 1 tin to the next)
I would disgard the hop bag after steeping it for the hop tea.

TBH, I personally wouldnt twaek a wherry as its a nice pint as it is, but if you have brewed it a few times then you might like the change.
