The reason I bought it was for the 3/8 die, I was assembling a job with weld nipples and ball valves and trying each to see the best orientation of the valve on the numerous assemblies when one galled up when doing so. It would have cost more to re weld and purchase another valve than it cost to purchase this lot. :)

Decided to get the best of both worlds and added a second outlet to my Copper, this will enable me to use either whole or pellet or whole hops. The second outlet is higher up the cone so should leave behind the worst of the sediment.

This is not the orientation of the valves they are only there to take sizes for the pipe work.

What size is that arm? 3/8 - 1/2 or 15mm?

Dont know if a small pump will be up to spinning it, but if I were to place a bet it wouldnt be 50/50 more like 80/20 (on the side it wont spin)- be interesting to see if it spins.

Good luck

Suppose it depends on how "free" it is. The little pump isn't too bad, but turn resistance will cause a problem.

The copper is 15mm I intend on taking up the olives then backing the lower gland nut off untill it spins when under power(thats if the wee pump has the guts) if it does I will then solder the nut in place to stop it spinning off. Failing that may have to get a more powerfull pump. :(

wrap the olive and tube with ptfe tape in the direction of spin to take advantage of its low friction coefficient and help the spin, the same round the cap nut thread will also allow u to tighten and seal loose on the thread and stick in place without needing a weld..

and be prepared to give it a nudge to get going ;)

the heavy compression fitting might need more oomph to spin tho,

have u considered a small dc lecky motor and elastic band drive belt to do the spinning for u, as the pump pressure needed to spin may provide too great a flow??

think u could organise a coach party out 2 to see this kit up n running Id by a ticket ;)
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(

I have recently been spending many hard hours of man thought on my ultimate brewery build project (due to start in 2019 at this rate)....and then i see these beautiful beasts.

Back to drawing board, re-set timescale to 2025 and book in for weld classes.

Gorgeous build, well done, please keep the pics coming. Cant believe youve never brewed a beer before...must be the ultimate virgin AG brewery kit !!

I have never brewed beer before but have built breweries before but on a larger scale.Just scaling down 10:1 welding class would be a good shout, I am sure you could get the lecturer interested in a night class project.
