Dalex tap

Post by soupdragon » Thu Feb 20, 2014 1:55 pm

Hi all

I've previously used the syringe method and while it does promote a nice head, it never lasts like a hand pulled pint through a beer engine.
I'm now thinking about getting a Dalex tap or similar to replace the party tap I use with my corny's. From what I've read about them, they will pour a nice tight " northern " head on a beer. Is this really, really true?

Cheers Tom

Hi Tom

Never used one but heard good reports. I've seen them on eBay for around £12-£14 if you're looking.
Best wishes

I have a couple connected to a home made stand then into the corny.

try to find the ones with the threaded spout. You can get all manner og sparklers to go on them.

i also have one with a creamer spout . All are great.

I got mine from harmonyhouse on Ebay. Pauls a nice guy and does all you need, line fittings the whole lot.

Got one here, missing the back nut. Would happily sell it on through the forum if you're interested though, like I say just needs a back nut and you can pick up one of those cheap.
PM if you're interested.

Is the nut the same as the one on the back of a drum tap? I take it that the thread on the spout will take any standard sparkler? You don't have an extender lying around anywhere as well do you?
So many questions.......

Don't think so, its 3/4 BSP so would suit something like this.
And it should be able to accomodate a standard sparkler, never tried it so not really sure!

I believe a drum tap is also 3/4 bsp. I've certainly used female threaded plumbing fittings of that size on the back of a MT drum tap (to attach a grain filter)

Cheers,
Chris

I checked with a spare I had and it fit the brass 3/4 bsp fitting, but the drum tap one was larger. No idea what the size is. Anyways, sold now :)
