if its calcium based gunk the cirtic acid is probably the best thing for the job, if however its caramalised wort burnt onto the element perhaps the pbw ?? afaik citric acid is perfectly save with foodgrade plastics..
its something ive delt with after every brew due to the hard source water.. generally with a calcium based build up if attacked within minutes of rinsing out the boiler it just falls off with a lil elbow grease and a kitchen scrubby only turning to concrete after drying out for a while.
ist update for months n months..
