Brupak plastic boiler - scorched element

Did a brew using liquid extract last night and it's burned onto the element

Is PBW any good for cleaning this? I usually use citric acid but just bought some PBW for cleaning my kegs and wondered if it would be better for the boiler.

if its calcium based gunk the cirtic acid is probably the best thing for the job, if however its caramalised wort burnt onto the element perhaps the pbw ?? afaik citric acid is perfectly save with foodgrade plastics..

its something ive delt with after every brew due to the hard source water.. generally with a calcium based build up if attacked within minutes of rinsing out the boiler it just falls off with a lil elbow grease and a kitchen scrubby only turning to concrete after drying out for a while.

Got it steeping but it's looking like citric acid and elbow grease are going to be needed.
Will see how I go.
